Hi folks!

My Firefox just updated and I'm now receiving the recommended stories (along with the widgets and recent activity.) when I open a New Tab. I was able to disable the widgets and activity and I see the place where I can turn off the Stories, but they are not going away.

In the "Customize" menu accessible via the pencil icon on the New Tab page, toggling Stories off does not make them go away; reloading the page, the toggle is re-enabled.

In the general Settings menu, accessible via the hamburger menu and under "Home and startup," I have Stories ("Exceptional content curated by the Firefox family") toggled off. The toggle does not reset, but the stories still display.

How can I fix this? Thank you all very much in advance.

Wunderground and my email open on my home page. With last update, Firefox is blocking my logged in version of wunderground which gives me ad free. If I clear the cache and open wunderground it works until I log in with my password. This is spoiling my experience

Monday 8/31/2026 I could scroll in earthlink webmail. Today 9/1/2026 I cannot scroll. I did browser update and no change. https://webmail1.earthlink.net

Also, I get stuck on some sites or error yet I worked day before or earlier in day and then again worked later by even 1-5 minutes.

I'm getting popup ads that open a new page after I punch a link I hit the link and an unrelated page comes up inn addition to the link I intended to open. It even does that when I click on an email. Is there a way for me to stop this? This was happening before I upgraded to the version I'm on now.

this exact question has been asked last year, none of the suggestions work: I am running Firefox 154.01 on Winux I have lost sound on Firefox. I have opened the same sites in Chromium and the sound is working fine. It's only in Firefox. I have tried several sites including , YouTube, and radio programs, no sound from Firefox. All of a sudden the sound disappeared. The speakers is turned on the volume is up, just not a sound from Firefox. What to do? Right now I had to switch over to Chromium

Firefox just automatically updated on my (old) Mac (to version 155) and the VPN has stopped working. I am no longer able to select France as a location which I have been able to do for weeks until now... What's going on?! How is this an improvement?

I use the setting brower.search.widget.new = false to customize my search bar. Since the latest update of Firefox (Firefox 154), I noticed that spacing between search results is larger and I don't like it as much. I am hoping to revert to the previous version where the spacing is more tight and easier to navigate. The first pic is Firefox 154 and the second is a previous version (147).

The autocomplete dropdowns for form fields have recently changed appearance, and I strongly prefer the previous, simple design.

The new version has:

• Clock icons next to autocomplete/history entries
• Much more vertical padding, making the list unnecessarily large
• Rounded "pill-shaped" highlighting when hovering over an entry

The previous autocomplete list was much more compact and clean, without the clock icons, excessive padding or rounded hover backgrounds.

Is there currently a setting, `about:config` preference or other supported way to restore the old autocomplete list appearance?

Ideally, I would like to use the previous style:

• No clock icons
• Compact rows with the previous amount of padding
• No rounded/pill-shaped hover effect
• Otherwise retain the existing autocomplete functionality

If there is no setting to restore the old appearance, could an option be added to allow users to choose between the old and new autocomplete UI?

I tried working with Earthlink support, but cannot get my mouse to work correctly in their webmail. This problem just started a couple weeks ago, and today it will not scroll at all. I opened the webmail in Edge and got it to work. There is a glitch somewhere.

Running Windows 11. Firefox was running at the time the hard drive crashed. When installing FF on the new drive, found the last profile folder set to parent.lock. Since it's the entire folder, I can't see which of the files in the profile were locked. I have a backup of two weeks prior (separate issue -- I was unaware my nightly backups weren't working for two weeks), but I'd like to recover the bookmark and password changes in that time.

Is there a way to get into the folder, or do I just need to accept the loss and go with the previous backup?

Over and over again when I try to open a website I get the notice that says "Secure Connection Failed". I have to restart my laptop and then I can open the website that I tried to access before. I've tried using the suggestions in the forum with no result in solving this problem. I've attached the page that comes up showing the problem.

I wanted to register a hose reel. I have attached the information provided for registering the product.

When I entered the URL shown on the card stating that the page could not be displayed. I don't remember the error exactly. The strange part is that I could go to the home page, but if I selected the registration option I got the error. So it made no difference how I tried to go to the registration page I got the same error.

I was about to call the manufacture when I decided to try Microsoft Edge. To my surprise the web page opened and I completed the registration.

After completing the registration I went back to FireFox to get the error for this question. To my surprise the web page opened correctly.

Can you explain what is going on and what I should do if it happens in the future?

My Earthlink email will not scroll. I have tried talking to Earthlink, but they say it is probably a browser problem. Here is my conversation with them, so that I don't have to re-type everything.
